About ditching the people pleasing & other saboteurs

I've always had this inner drive to be the "good girl," constantly making what I believed were the "right" decisions, going above and beyond expectations, and molding myself to fit into any situation without causing inconvenience. It led me to create this Chameleon Persona with the sole purpose of pleasing others. But let me tell you, it was downright exhausting!

This chameleon, also known as a saboteur or limiting belief, was my constant companion, whispering in my ear and urging me to avoid disappointing others, never be selfish, always say yes, and take responsibility for everyone's emotions. You might recognize this familiar voice, whatever it says to you.

Now, let me share with you four steps that completely changed my life, freeing me from the control of my saboteur and granting me independence and peace of mind:

1.          Identify the 3 W's:

•           What saboteur voices are present right now?

•           When do they become louder?

•           What are they saying?

2.          Dig into their origin, understanding their intent to protect:

•           What were they trying to shield me from? (Think back to your childhood.)

3.          Question their relevance in your current life:

•           How true are they still now?

4.          Rewrite the narrative with this question in mind:

•           How can you reshape your story to serve your own well-being?

Now, let's uncover some lies and truths that can help guide you:

LIES:

•           You're destined to live with these self-diminishing voices forever.

•           The saboteurs always know best.

•           Without them, you'll be unsafe and bound to fail.

•

TRUTHS:

•           Your saboteurs were once there to protect you, but they no longer serve you in your life.

•           There's no inherent truth in what they're saying.

•           You have the power to take control of your life and shape your mindset according to what truly serves you.

•           Remember, you're ALWAYS at choice.
